Academy Update

GA Cup weekend a success

The Kia Training Grounds played host to the 2017/18 GA Cup Central Region Qualifying tournament this past weekend.


The Toronto FC U-14 (2003) and U-16 (2001) teams both took part in the tournament. The U-14s went 1-2-0 defeating the Chicago Fire on Monday by a score of 3-0.

The U-16s went a perfect 3-0-0 to open their tournament. The Reds defeated the Columbus Crew in dramatic fashion on Monday coming back from two down to win.

OPDL Update  

The Toronto FC U-15 (2002) team that competes in the OPDL U-16 division defeated Markham 5-0 this week.


Theodor Cordeanu, Matthew Wrobel, Cameron DaSilva, Joshua Solomon and Ryan Fazzalari had the goals for the Reds.


TFC III finish season with a win

Toronto FC III finished their League 1 Ontario campaign with a 2-0 victory over Sanjaxx. Zak Abdi and Luca Petrasso scored in the match. A recap of the match can be found here.


Shaan Hundal scores twice for TFC II

Shaan Hundal scored twice for the Young Reds as they fell to Bethlehem Steel FC on Friday night.

For Hundal it was goals number 5 and 6 on the season, matching his career high he set last year.

Earlier Hundal was named to the Team of the Week bench and Liam Fraser was named to the USL Team of the Week for their efforts in TFC IIā€™s win over Louisville City.


Ayo Akinola scores for U.S. at World Cup

Ayo Akinola scored the winning goal for the United States at the FIFA U-17 World Cup against Ghana.
