Toronto FC Academy’s U-18, U-16 and U-15 teams head to MLS NEXT Flex from Thursday, April 23 to Tuesday, April 28 at the Toyota Soccer Complex in Frisco, Texas. MLS NEXT Flex is the final qualifying tournament for the 2026 MLS NEXT season. Based on each team’s performance in league matches from September 2025 through March 2026, teams have been split into groups of four for the tournament. The winner of each group automatically qualifies for the 2026 MLS NEXT Cup held at the Regional Athletics Complex in Salt Lake City, Utah in May. In each age group within the MLS NEXT Academy Division, 16 clubs will qualify via league play and 16 finalists from MLS NEXT Cup Qualifier events will compete for the MLS NEXT Cup.
The U-18 team has been drawn into Group K alongside Lamorinda Soccer Club, Strikers FC and the Players Development Academy. TFC kick off the tournament on Thursday, April 23 against Lamorinda SC at 9:00 a.m. ET, before facing Strikers FC the following day Friday, April 24 at 11:15 a.m. ET. After a daybreak, the U-18s close out the tournament agasint the Players Development Academy on Sunday, April 26 with a kickoff time set for 11:15 a.m. ET.
Drawn into Group Q, TFC’s U-15 team will follow suit with the U-18s, and start their MLS NEXT Flex journey on Thursday, April 23 against Inter Atlanta FC at 1:30 p.m. ET. The U-15s shift their focus to Barca Residency Academy the next day Friday, April 24 for an 8:15 p.m. ET kick off and wrap up play against MLS Academy, Sporting Kansas City on Sunday, April 26 at 3:45 p.m. ET.
The U-16s start Flex action on Saturday, April 25 against City SC Southwest for a 3:45 p.m. kick off. TFC will continue to play on Monday, April 27 with a game against Capital City SC at 11:15 a.m. ET before going up against Bethesda SC on Tuesday, April 28 at 9:00 a.m. ET.
