The Reds will now be looking to record consecutive road victories over the Revolution, after Lorenzo Insigne’s strike sealed a 1-0 win at Gillette Stadium on March 3, 2024.
STEP BY STEP
The Reds enter Matchday 33 after an unbeaten August, having recorded four consecutive ties in MLS regular season play. Prior to the September FIFA international break, Toronto FC and rivals CF MontrĂ©al played to a 1-1 draw in the latest 401 Derby at BMO Field on August 30. After a feisty 80 minutes, Dante Sealy headed in Bryce Duke’s free-kick delivery in the 84th minute to give the Bleu-blanc-noir a late lead against the run of play. The hosts hit back five minutes later when captain Jonathan Osorio buried a left-footed finish after substitute Jules-Anthony Vilsaint’s effort was saved by Thomas Gillier. Both sides pushed for a late winner in stoppage time, with Vilsaint and IvĂ¡n Jaime each striking the post, before the final whistle settled the affair. New acquisition JosĂ© Cifuentes made his Toronto FC debut as a 74th minute substitute, becoming the eleventh player to debut for the Reds this season. On August 24, the Reds and Atlanta United could not be separated in a goalless draw at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with goalkeeper Sean Johnson recording his seventh clean sheet of the 2025 MLS season.

TEAM OF THE MATCHDAY
Last week, Toronto FC midfielder Jonathan Osorio was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 31 after his influential performance in the Reds’ 1-1 draw against rivals CF Montréal at BMO Field.
