HOME SWEET HOME
Toronto FC return to MLS action following the FIFA Club World Cup and Concacaf Gold Cup break with the second and final regular season meeting against New York Red Bulls. The Reds hold a 123W-99L-79T all-time record (448 points) in MLS regular season matches played on home soil to date.

AN ODE TO THE PAST
TFC host the New York Red Bulls, one of Major League Soccer’s ten original founding clubs in 1996, for the 44th encounter in the all-time series between the two clubs. Historically, TFC hold a 9W-24L-10T record through their first 43 regular season meetings with the Red Bulls. The two clubs have previously faced off in Toronto on 20 separate occasions, with the Reds holding a combined 7W-6L-7T record at BMO Field. Toronto FC will be looking for their first home victory over Wednesday’s opponent since goals from Jozy Altidore, Alejandra Pozuelo and Ashtone Morgan lifted the Reds to a 3-1 win on July 17, 2019.
STEP BY STEP
The Reds enter the second half of their MLS campaign eager to climb the Eastern Conference standings, after posting a 3W-10L-4T record through their first 17 matches. TFC currently sit 14th in the East, five places out of a playoff spot, and return to league play with back-to-back home games against the New York Red Bulls and Portland Timbers within a four-night span.
In their most recent outing, Toronto fell 2-0 to Charlotte FC at BMO Field on May 31, courtesy of second-half goals from Pep Biel and Patrick Agyemang. The Matchday 17 clash also marked the long-awaited return of Canadian international Richie Laryea, who made his first appearance since March 1 after recovering from a hamstring injury.
FOR CLUB AND COUNTRY
Four Reds are currently representing their countries at the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup held across Canada and the United States. The Canadian Men’s National Team, featuring Toronto FC pair Richie Laryea and Jonathan Osorio, has earned four points with a win and a draw ahead of their final Group B match against El Salvador on Monday, June 23 (10:00 p.m. ET). Osorio has since returned to Toronto after sustaining a lower body injury that has ruled the TFC captain out for the remainder of the summer tournament. Honduras, including midfielder Deybi Flores, also enter their final Group B match against Curaçao on Monday night with a 1W-1T record. Trinidad & Tobago and Tyrese Spicer, meanwhile, were eliminated after finishing third in Group D with two points, following a 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabia on Sunday evening. Toronto FC are one of only five MLS clubs with four or more players called up for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup, joining Minnesota United FC, CF Montréal, Philadelphia Union and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

The Haitian international signed a First Team contract as a Homegrown player on December 21, 2015, recording six goals and four assists through 79 combined appearances (2016 – 2019). Etienne Jr. helped the Red Bulls clinch the 2018 Supporters’ Shield and also helped New York Red Bulls II lift the 2016 USL regular season and championship titles with 15 goals in 57 appearances for Dos Toros. Since joining TFC in April 2024, Etienne Jr. has recorded five goals and four assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.
