U-13 team to compete in CONCACAF Champions League

The Toronto FC Academy U-13 team is off to Mexico next week to compete in the 2017 CONCACAF Under-13 Champions League. The tournament will run from August 5th to 12th in Toluca, Mexico.

This year’s edition of the tournament will be the third of its nature. The U-13 tournament is the youngest tournament run by CONCACAF.  This will be the first time a TFC side has taken part in the tournament.

In April, Toronto FC was drawn into Group B with defending champions Santa Ana (El Salvador), Universidad Cantera Notre (Mexico), and Real Esteli (Nicaragua).

All matches will be played at the Mexican Football Federation HQ. The team kicks off their tournament on August 5th against Universidad Cantera Notre. They will then take on Real Esteli on August 6th and close out the group stage with a match against Santa Ana on August 7th.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage of the tournament with the finals being played on August 12th.
