What Did Dasovic Say At Half?

Toronto FC interim head coach Nick Dasovic had strong words for his team at half time in Houston, but then watched as the Reds turned a 1-0 deficit after 45 minutes into a 2-1 win.

Dasovic admitted the first half performance from his team was unacceptable, but captain Dwayne De Rosario scored two stunning second half goals to secure the Reds' second away win of the season and keep them in the playoff race, five points outside the wildcard places.

"This team has been through a lot in the last four or five days," said Dasovic on the GOLTV post-game show. "We came here after a difficult match at Real Salt Lake and didn't start well in the first half."

"I had a few choice words for them at half time and I told them they needed to show the people of Toronto that we won't quit. That's why it felt so good to see how they came out in the second half and I couldn't have asked more from them."

"The good part now is that we have now shown we can win away from home. It is going to be a really tough game in Mexico now in the Champions League on Tuesday and then we need to get some more points against San Jose at home next week. Maybe a lot of people won't give us a chance of making the playoffs but I am looking forward to the rest of the games."

De Rosario now has 11 goals in MLS this season. "It was not the way we wanted to start but we showed commitment and tireless effort," said the former Houston player. "This is one game we needed to win but hopefully we can build on this. I am happy to help my team get the result although it was bittersweet against my old team."
