Harris, Hernandez Out For Dallas

Toronto FC will be missing three players due to international duty when they face FC Dallas at Pizza Hut Park on Saturday, but the home team will also be down a couple of starters.

[inline_node:4749]Atiba Harris and Daniel Hernandez both picked up their fifth yellow card of the season last weekend and will now be suspended for Saturday’s match.

Both had been mainstays in head coach Schellas Hyndman’s starting lineup, and Hernandez was one of five position players in MLS to play every minute in 2010. Their departure leaves two big holes on the pitch, but the FCD manager is confident he has the personnel to deliver results even in their absence.

“We’re getting some really good performances from our young players,” Hyndman told mlssoccer.com. “It’s just, how many of them can you have on the field at the same time before that egg cracks? We’re going into this with [the attitude] of at least we’re at home. We’ve just got to play our team structure. It doesn’t always count on an individual. That’s my focus.”

Among the possible replacements for Harris at right midfield are Eric Avila, Marvin Chavez, recently-signed Jackson Goncalves, or even Heath Pearce or Jeff Cunningham.

As for the Reds, they will have to cope without defender Nana Attakora, midfielder Julian de Guzman and captain Dwayne De Rosario. All three players are in the Canada squad to face Peru at BMO Field on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The Canada squad is training in Nottawasaga this week ahead of the game.
