Toronto FC (5W-14L-14T, 29 points) fell to a 2-0 road loss against Los Angeles FC (17W-7L-8T, 59 points) on Wednesday evening at BMO Stadium in California.

Toronto FC Head Coach Robin Fraser made four changes from Saturday’s lineup against Chicago Fire FC with Raoul Petretta, Theo Corbeanu, Maxime Dominguez and Jules-Anthony Vilsaint coming into the side for Richie Laryea, Jonathan Osorio, Deandre Kerr and Derrick Etienne Jr.

Los Angeles FC struck early as Jeremy Ebobisse capitalized on an opening and slotted home a composed left-footed finish in the 13th minute to make it 1-0.

Toronto FC pushed to respond through first-half efforts from distance by Maxime Dominguez and Alonso Coello but entered the interval trailing by one.

Thirteen minutes into the second half, LAFC were awarded a penalty after Kosi Thompson brought down David Martínez in the box. Toronto’s Sean Johnson rose to the occasion with a low dive to his left, stopping Martínez’s 12-yard spot kick for his ninth MLS penalty save and first with Toronto FC.

Nine minutes later, however, the Black & Gold doubled their lead when substitute Frankie Amaya raced onto Eddie Segura’s pass and rifled a powerful shot from inside the area, just three minutes after entering the match.

The visitors made several late changes in the final 15 minutes of regulation, introducing Deandre Kerr, Markus Cimermancic and Malik Henry off the bench in an effort to spark a comeback, but were unable break through. Late into stoppage time, TFC’s Alonso Coello was shown a direct red card following a VAR review for a challenge on Jailson.

The full-time whistle confirmed the 2-0 victory for Los Angeles FC, ending Toronto FC’s eight-game unbeaten run and their record-setting longest tie streak in MLS history.

Toronto FC wrap up their 2025 campaign on Saturday, October 18, as part of MLS Decision Day. Kick-off from BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario is set for 6:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on TSN5 in Canada.
