Jobs On The Line

Toronto FC utility man Dan Gargan admits jobs are on the line in the final three matches of the MLS season. Despite the Reds being nine points off the playoffs with only three games left, Gargan knows there is a lot to play for as the team prepares to face Chivas USA on Saturday night.

“We still have to approach every game with intensity and fire and want to win the game,” he said. “There are plenty of jobs to be won for next year and there is plenty still on the table to prove. We can’t take any game lightly and it will be a tough one against Chivas because they are playing for pride.”

“I want to be here, and that’s why I came here,” said Gargan. “Every day, every game and every practice is an opportunity for me to prove myself and that is what I am trying to do. I would love to be here next year and I want to prove to whoever is going to be running the ship that I deserve to be here.”

Toronto FC’s squad arrived in Los Angeles on Thursday night and will train on Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. PT. Nick Dasovic will put the Reds players through their paces on the training pitches outside the Home Depot Center.

There are four Toronto FC players who are one yellow card away from a one match suspension. Chad Barrett, Adrian Cann, Julian de Guzman and Dwayne De Rosario will all miss next week’s match against Columbus Crew if they receive a booking against Chivas.

Chivas USA (7-15-4) are without two players on international duty. Defender Dario Delgado is away with Costa Rica and Osael Romero is representing El Salvador.

Former Canadian international Jason deVos will join me as always to call the game on GOLTV Canada at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
