Gargan Excited To Be In Philadelphia

Toronto FC’s players arrived in Philadelphia on Friday evening ahead of Saturday’s match against the Union (kick off at 3:30 p.m. live on CBC). The Reds’ flight out of Pearson Airport was delayed by an hour leading to a later arrival than planned.

[inline_node:3736]The most excited person on the trip? Without a doubt, it is Dan Gargan. The TFC defender/midfielder is back home for the weekend and can’t wait to play in his home city. Gargan says he will have over 100 family members in attendance at the match tomorrow. Philadelphia is also home for Toronto goalkeeper Jon Conway.

The temperature on arrival in Philadelphia was 35 degrees, with another hot and humid day scheduled for tomorrow. The players will be well used to the heat after training in Toronto over the last couple of weeks, but here in Philadelphia it feels much more humid at the moment.

Before leaving Toronto, the team trained at Cherry Beach on Friday morning and then returned to Air Canada Centre. The Reds have been using the ACC as their base for the last couple of days as the Indy race has taken over the Exhibition Grounds.

Martin Saric and O’Brian White missed the trip due to injury and illness respectively.
