Canada Soccer today announced that TFC Academy athletes John Chukwu, Ethan Reid, Sasha Romanov, Khaleel Small and Luka Todorovic have been named to represent the Canadian National Team in the 2025 Concacaf Boys’ U-15 Championship. The fifth edition of the tournament will take place from Saturday, August 2 to Sunday, August 10, featuring 39 nations divided into three leagues. Each league will compete simultaneously in different host countries, including Canada’s League A set in Costa Rica, League B in Aruba and League C in Curaçao.

“We’re very proud to have five of our Academy players representing Canada at the upcoming U-15 Concacaf Championship,” says TFC Academy Director Anthony Capotosto. “All five players made steady progress during the MLS NEXT season and it’s great that the National Team has recognized their body of work with these call-ups. We wish them and the team all the best at the tournament.”

The tournament format features a group stage followed by a single-elimination knockout round and a final in each of the three leagues. Team distribution across the leagues is based on the Concacaf Men’s U-17 rankings and the final number of participating teams. League A, held in Alajuela, Costa Rica, will host two groups comprised of the eight highest-ranked national teams and a guest team. League B (Oranjestad, Aruba) will host 16 of the next best-ranked national teams and League C (Willemstad, Curaçao) will host 14 national teams, both Leagues B and C will each host four groups. Canada was placed in League A and drawn into Group B alongside the United States, Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia. The other group in League A, Group A, features Mexico, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

Canada opens the group stage on Monday, August 4, against hosts Costa Rica for a 9:00 a.m. ET kickoff. Les Rouges will then face Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, August 6 at 7:00 a.m. ET and are scheduled to close out group stage play against the United States on Thursday, August 7 with a scheduled kickoff time of 7:00 a.m. ET. The top two teams from Groups A and B will advance to the knockout stage starting on Saturday, August 9, with the championship match scheduled on Sunday, August 10.
