BMO Champions Cup Day Four

TORONTO – The U-15 division saw their two-last group stage matches played before the final on Sunday, November 18, 2018.


U-15 DIVISION.

Saturday saw Oakville SC take on Rush Canada Blue. With a game concentrated in the midfield, both teams were creating great chances. Rush Canada Blue had more chances in the attacking third hitting two balls off the post. Oakville made some adjustments and substitutions late in the first half, keeping the match scoreless going into halftime.


Rush Blue came on strong in the second half. Mikail Shallwani scored a second-half brace guaranteeing their place in the finals.


The second game saw Toronto FC Academy (2003) taking on Unionville Milliken SC. With another strong start, TFC opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, when Mauro Lulli finished a well taken corner kick. Unionville Milliken responded eight minutes later when Sacha Pcalevski levelled the match.


Each team created many chances to break the game open. TFC’s Kosi Thompson scored in the 64th minute to give the Young Reds a 2-1 lead. TFC extended its lead when Mauro Lulli scored in the 83rd minute giving them a 3-1 victory and securing the Young Reds’ spot in the finals.


The BMO Champions Cup resumes today with both TFC Academy Teams U-13 (2005) and U-15 (2003) playing the finals against Pro Stars Academy and Rush Canada Blue, respectively.
