The Reds returned to MLS Regular Season action on Sunday at home against rivals CF Montréal. Italian international Federico Bernardeschi earned himself a brace landing him on MLSsoccer.com's Matchday 27: Team of the Matchday roster, his third honour of the 2023 campaign.
After Montréal scored twice in the first half, fellow Italian International Lorenzo Insigne found Federico Bernardeschi outside the 18-yard box where he struck the ball into the top-left corner to pull one back for the Reds in the 66th minute.
Montréal then restored the two-goal lead from the penalty spot before Bernardeschi conjured another moment of magic in stoppage time, this time scoring from outside the box again following a neat link-up with Jonathan Osorio in the 94th minute.
