Academy teams face tough competition in Europe

U13’s compete against elite talent in Italy

The U13 Toronto FC Academy team travelled to Italy to participate in an international tournament against some of the top teams in the world.


The team took on Italian club’s Calcio Padova and A.S.D. Thermal Abano Teolo, Dutch club’s AFC Ajax and FC Groningen, and Danish club FC Midtjylland in the tournament. The team finished with an overall record of 1-4-0, their one victory being a 7-0 rout against A.S.D. Thermal Abano Teolo.


The team started off strong in the majority of their matches, scoring the first goal in 4 of the 5 matches they played. The coaching staff was very pleased with the compete level and overall performance of the team. 


It was a great experience for the young Reds to get a taste of elite competition and face some of the best talent in Europe.

U14 France Trip

U14’s travelled to France for international tournament


The U14 Toronto FC Academy team also participated in an international tournament that was held in France.


The team finished with an overall record of 2-4-2, competing intensely against each opponent.


The coaching staff was pleased with the consistency and individual performances of both goalkeepers, as well as the variety of ways the team managed to score goals, whether it was through set pieces, late runs from the midfielders, or individual brilliance in the attacking third.
