Toronto FC Academy Under-15 and 17 teams are both through to the semifinals of the MLS Generation adidas Cup in Seattle to be played on Tuesday, August 7.

In a must-win match the U17 team came through with a 4-1 victory over D.C. United on Monday night. The Reds received a brace from Daniel Jodah and additional goals from Jordan Hamilton and Mark Wadid.

Earlier the U15s secured passage to the semifinals taking a less emphatic but equally effective 2-1 result over San Jose.

The U17s will be up against Columbus in their semifinal, while the U15 boys meet LA Galaxy.

The tournament format doesn't allow draws and teams go to penalties if tied after 90 minutes. A win is worth two points, a penalty loss earns a single and nothing is awarded for a regulation time loss.

U17s were held 1-1 by LA Galaxy in its first match then lost on penalty kicks. They bounced back to beat Dallas 2-1 before dominating D.C. to earn a semifinal berth.

The U15s had a similar path to the final four. They lost their first match on penalties to FC Dallas after a 1-1 regulation time draw. Their next game registered a 3-0 win over hometown Seattle ahead of the San Jose triumph.
