Six Toronto FC players named to Canada Soccer U-20 Squad

Nine players from Toronto FC will represent four different nations at the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Bradenton, Florida. The tournament features 34 teams with the top four finishers earning a spot in next summer’s U-20 FIFA World Cup. The three-week long tournament kicks off on November 1^st.

Six Reds will don the red and white and represent Canada at the tournament. Defenders Julian Dunn, Rocco Romeo and Terique Mohammed, midfielders Dante Campbell and Noble Okello and forward Jordan Perruzza were all named to the final squad.

Also representing Canada is TFC Academy alumni, midfielder Steffen Yeates, who now plays for the University of Connecticut.

Canada was drawn into Group D and will open up the tournament on November 2^nd against Dominica. Canada will then play Guadeloupe (Nov 4), Panama (Nov 6), Saint Kitts & Nevis (Nov 8) and close out the group stage vs. Martinique on November 10^th. Only the first-place team from each group will qualify for the next round.

Forward Ayo Akinola was named to the United States team that will be looking to defend their CONCACAF U-20 crown. Last year Akinola represented the US at the U-17 World Cup where he scored one goal and picked up an assist as the US were eliminated in the quarterfinals.

The US were drawn into Group A and open the tournament on November 1^st against Puerto Rico.

Defender Luke Singh will too be in Florida representing Trinidad & Tobago. T&T were also drawn into Group A and will face Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on November 1^st.

Defender Kaeson Trench will be representing Barbados at the tournament. Barbados is in Group E and play Costa Rica in their opening match on November 3^rd.
