Toronto FC announced today that the club has signed Toronto FC II defenders Reid Fisher and Jackson Gilman to Short-Term Agreements for tonight’s MLS regular season match against Austin FC. These call-ups will mark Fisher and Gilman’s first of four available Short-Term Agreements for the 2026 MLS season.

Fisher, 21, signed a professional contract with Toronto FC II on March 6, 2025, and is currently in his second season with the Young Reds. The Huntington Beach, California native was originally selected 23rd overall (first round) by Toronto FC in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft after spending three seasons at San Diego State University. He has made 29 appearances (25 starts) across two seasons (2025, 2026) with TFC II including his club debut against FC Cincinnati 2 on March 9, 2025. This season, the defender started all five of the club’s opening matches, playing all 450 minutes to begin the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro campaign.

Gilman, 21, was originally selected 36th overall (second round) by TFC in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft after spending four seasons at the University of Pittsburgh. He joined Toronto FC’s 2026 preseason training camp in Marbella, Spain before signing a professional contract with Toronto FC II on February 20, 2026. The Schwenksville, Pennsylvania native has recorded 450 minutes in five appearances (all starts) for TFC II during the MLS NEXT Pro regular season. Gilman made his Young Reds debut and served as team captain in the season opener against Philadelphia Union II on February 28, 2026.

Per MLS rules, a club may sign a player, age 25 or younger, during the league season from its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate to a maximum of four Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) each season (maximum of 16 days). An individual player may be included on up to four MLS league season match rosters each season; however, that player may appear in no more than two MLS league season matches. An individual player may also appear in any number of non-league games during the terms of his four Short-Term Agreements.
