A late wonder-strike off the foot of Domenico Criscito ensured a point for Toronto FC, extending their unbeaten streak to five after a 2-2 draw with the New England Revolution at BMO Field on Wednesday night.
The Reds took the lead in the first half from the penalty spot after Ayo Akinola was hauled down in the area. Italian international Federico Bernardeschi stepped up from 12 yards and cooly dispatched the spot kick, his third goal in three games at BMO Field.
New England scored on either side of the break to level and take the lead, pegging TFC back.
But a moment of magic secured a valuable point for the reds as the former Genoa captain unleashed a superb first-time volley from outside the area to equalize in the 75th minute.
The Reds return to action on Saturday night as they hit the road to take on Inter Miami CF at DRV PNK Stadium.
