Toronto FC (5W-13L-11T, 26 points) battled to a 1-1 road tie against the New England Revolution (8W-14L-8T, 32 points) on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium, marking the Reds’ fifth consecutive draw since August 9.

Toronto FC Head Coach Robin Fraser made five changes from the side that drew against rivals CF Montréal a fortnight ago, with Luka Gavran, Lazar Stefanović, Raoul Petretta, José Cifuentes and Deandre Kerr coming in for Sean Johnson, Kosi Thompson, Richie Laryea, Maxime Dominguez and Ola Brynhildsen.

TFC were forced into an early substitution in the 16th minute after Kevin Long sustained a knock, with Sigurd Rosted coming on in his place.

The two Eastern Conference sides tested the opposing goalkeepers in an evenly-contested first half at the NFL stadium. In the 21stminute, Toronto’s Luka Gavran comfortably saved a powerful long-range strike from Revs captain Carles Gil.

Twenty minutes later, New England’s Matt Turner was forced into action to parry Theo Corbeanu’s long-range effort, before Jonathan Osorio pounced on the rebound and was pushed to the ground under pressure from Brayan Ceballos, with the referee Alexis Da Silva waving play on.

Eight minutes into the restart, TFC were dealt another injury setback, as Jonathan Osorio made way for Maxime Dominguez.

The Reds finally found the breakthrough in the 75th minute when a switch of play from Djordje Mihailovic released Theo Corbeanu into space, and the Hamilton, Ontario native rifled a powerful right-footed effort past Matt Turner.

The opener marked Corbeanu’s team-leading sixth goal of the 2025 MLS season and Mihailovic’s third assist since joining the Reds in August 2025.

The Revs, however, drew level in the 90th minute when Luca Langoni’s deflected strike found its way into the net, earning the hosts a share of the points with the result officially eliminating Toronto FC from 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs contention.

Up next, the Reds travel to the Buckeye State to face the Columbus Crew on Saturday, September 20. Kick-off from Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
