Laryea, Insigne named to Week 25 MLS Team of the Week

A pair of summer additions continue to make their mark as the Reds roll on.

After an impressive late 3-1 win over the Portland Timbers this Saturday, both Richie Laryea and Lorenzo Insigne have been named to the Week 25 MLS Team of the Week.

The nod marks Laryea's first TOTW inclusion since his return to TFC (on loan from Nottingham Forest), while Insigne makes the bench for the second consecutive week.

The Toronto native got the night started in the waning moments of the first half, showing off his trademark speed and footwork down the right side to bag his first assist. The Canadian connection proved to be the key once again as Laryea linked up with fellow senior international Jonathan Osorio for a second straight week.

Laryea helped to seal the result late in the match, finding Federico Bernardeschi in 85th minute before the Italian international put the result out reach with a powerful effort to the bottom corner.

Sandwiched between the two was perhaps the moment of the night courtesy of Il Magnifico. Shortly after conceding the equalizer, Insigne made his mark in front of the BMO Field faithful latching onto a lovely chip from captain Michael Bradley. The 31-year-old did well to take the ball down before volleying home the match winner to the delight of the sold out crowd.
