Jake Nerwinski's 77th-minute goal helped the Vancouver Whitecaps stun Toronto FC 3-2 Saturday night at BC Place.


Nerwinski scored off Andy Rose's cross as the host Whitecaps enjoyed a night of offensive producton that saw Lucas Cavallini and Michael Baldisimo score their first goals in Vancouver colors.


Vancouver got their first win over Toronto FC in three meetings this season, and ended a three-game losing streak. The Reds lost their second straight.


Toronto FC trailed twice, but evened the score at 2 in the 71st minute with Alejandro Pozuelo's goal off a pass into the box from Pablo Piatti.


Toronto had the vast majority of possession and chances throughout, but trailed 1-0 in the 17th minute when Ali Adnan's cross took a turf bounce up to the head of the oncoming Cavallini, who deposited the ball into the net.


TFC came back eight minutes later with captain Jonathan Osorio scoring off a pass from Pozuelo, Pozuelo's eighth assist of the season.


Toronto FC had a chance to take the lead in the 52nd minute, but Piatti's chance hit woodwork.


Baldisimo opened his Vancouver account with a right-footed blast in the 57th minute. He front-flipped in celebration.


Pozuelo had a chance from short range in the 64th minute, but Thomas Hasal dived for the save and sent it away with two hands.
