Three Keys to the Match: Philadelphia Union vs. Toronto FC

PHI (away) Three Keys 2018

Off to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Union. Here are the Benjamin Moore three keys for Friday night’s match.
Midfield Hole

The Union will be without two of their top midfielders in captain Alejandro Bedoya and Haris Medunjanin. Philly head coach Jim Curtin will be forced to shuffle his lineup to cope, which could mean a big opportunity for TFC to take advantage. The Union are a solid home side with just one loss at Talen Energy Stadium, but they could be ripe for the picking on Friday night.

Close It Out

The Reds were able to strike first in Columbus, but it was the final half hour that proved to be their downfall.

Getting the first goal on the road will again prove crucial, but they’ll need to remain committed and organized in the later stages of the game in order to see out a result in a hostile environment.

Bradley Back?

The defense appears to be on the mend, with the likes of Nick Hagglund and Nicolas Hasler making progress over the course of the week. Should they be ready to go, head coach Greg Vanney would be able to slot captain Michael Bradley out of the backline and into his preferred midfield role. His presence higher up the pitch could prove to be crucial for TFC on Friday night.
