Getting to know Jordan Hamilton

Jordan Hamilton vs Chas

In a weekly Q & A, we’ll be talking with one player on TFC II to learn about their personalities and what they do before stepping on the pitch. This week we sat down with Canadian striker Jordan Hamilton and learned a few interesting things in the process.

Q: What is your favourite pregame meal?

Hamilton: Spaghetti. Really any kind of pasta dish.

Q: What artist or song do you use to pump yourself up before games?

Hamilton: I like to keep it Canadian, so anything Drake.

Q: Do you have any pregame rituals?

Hamilton: Yes, everything has to go from right to left. Socks, boots, shin guards, tape. It all has to go right to left.

Q: Who is your favourite soccer player?

Hamilton: It was Mario Balotelli, but he really hasn’t been up to par over the last couple years. It’s hard to pick one, but right now I’d say my favourite player is Sergio Aguero.

Q: What is your main source of motivation/inspiration?

Hamilton: My family.

Q: If you weren’t a soccer player, what would you be?

Hamilton: If I wasn’t a soccer player, I’d probably be an athlete in another sport like track & field or basketball.

Q: Do you have any hidden talents outside of soccer?

Hamilton: Most people don’t know I was really good at basketball, track & field and cross country, but while I was in Portugal I was a mean cook! I can make a really good salmon or chicken breast with vegetables.

Q: Who would you say your best friend or friends are on TFC?

Hamilton: Well, he’s gone now but it was Doneil Henry. However, there’s a bunch of guys that I’ve been playing with for a while, Manny Aparicio, Chris Mannella and Mark Serjeant is back in the fold. We’ve all been within the academy for about five years now, playing together since we were about 13-14 years old.

Q: If you could speak to the TFC fans, what would you like them to know about you?

Hamilton: I’m going to score a lot of goals and plan to celebrate with them a lot!
