Toronto FC captain Steven Caldwell serves as the Reds' unquestioned leader on defence. He's also a leader off the field, giving back to a community that has embraced him as one of their own.

Throughout the season a ticket program called 'Caldwell's Captains' gave fans an opportunity to take in a game at BMO Field. 

One of these fans, Tymaz, was late to the game he attended this season and wasn't able to meet Steven before the match.

It was Tymaz's 18th birthday this Wednesday and a party was held at SickKids Hospital on his behalf.

Caldwell made sure Tymaz would get his chance to meet the TFC defender, surprising the youngster in Marnies Lounge during the birthday festivities. The pair played video games, watched soccer highlights and opened presents for well over an hour, making it an 18th birthday to remember for the TFC fan.
