After successful regular season campaigns, the Kia Toronto FC Academy U17 and U19 teams are gaining valuable playoff experience that they hope to one day bring with them to the first team. There is a lot to like and plenty of talent on our U17 team. Four players – striker Jordan Hamilton, midfielder Derick Sequeira, and defenders Kevon Black and Eli Roubos - attended the recent Canadian U17 National Team camp in Spain. We also boast firepower up front with striker Mark Wadid who finished tied for first in league scoring with 16 goals and Hamilton who finished third with 9.

On Saturday, October 13th our U17 team plays the Mississauga Eagles FC B in the first round of the CSL Reserve League playoffs. The clubs faced off twice during the regular season with our young Reds winning 6-1 and 9-0 respectively. The young lads take momentum into the playoffs coming off an undefeated regular season, finishing in first place with a record of 13-0-3. You can enjoy the match live for free on Saturday at the Downsview North Turf Pitch. Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m.

Our older lads of the U19 team are coming off a good season in the CSL Men’s Premier Division having finished seventh place. The club is certainly a talented one with three players– midfielder Sergio Camargo, and defenders Nikola Paunic and Tyler Pasher – all having been called-up to the Canadian U20 National Team this season.

The club finished the season with 10 wins and under the tutelage of Danny Dichio, are now in the playoffs for the first time this Sunday in Montreal. Our Quarterfinal opponent is none other than arch rival Montreal Impact.
