The Reds were taking part in the season's first Community Practice presented by Sport Chek at Cherry Beach. Aside from the extra onlookers, it was business as usual for Toronto players and coaches.

During one of the drills in the first hour, Cann was caught on the turf and was quite visibly in pain. He was helped to the sidelines and treated for a few minutes before leaving to be evaluated. The club will have more information on Cann's condition once he has been thoroughly examined.

Should Cann's injury cause him to miss an extended period of time, Reds may need to look at integrating Toronto FC Academy graduate and reserve team player Doneil Henry into the first team alongside Nana Attakora and Ty Harden. Jamaican defender Dicoy Williams is likely to miss most of June due to the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Some good news for Toronto arrived in the form of forward Alan Gordon. It is too early to tell if the American front man is prepared to play in Saturday's BMO Field match against Sporting Kansas City (7 p.m. ET on TSN), but Gordon took part in first team training on Tuesday.

Toronto goalkeeper Stefan Frei was of interest to Schweizer Fernsehen (Swiss Television), which sent an interviewer to speak with the Reds' Switzerland-born player. Frei has yet to receive a call from his native country. The 25-year old, who is eligible to represent the United States, has made it clear that he is committed to play for Switzerland.
