Four New Trialists In Orlando

Four new trialists trained with Toronto FC’s squad in Orlando on Wednesday morning at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. Mikael Yourassowsky, Ivo de Heus, Jamal  Gay and Joevin Jones are all spending time with the team in Florida.

Belgian defender Yourassowsky most recently played with NK Rijeka of Croatia. He has also played in Belgium, Argentina, Greece and Mexico.

De Heus is a midfielder who spent time in the Ajax youth program from 2002-2007 where he worked with Toronto FC’s current First Assistant Coach Bob de Klerk. De Heus went on to play in the Netherlands for Willem II Tilburg and AGOVV Apeldoorn.

Gay played for the Trinidad & Tobago U-20 National Team at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt and has since appeared for the senior national team. The forward began his club career began at Joe Public in his native Trinidad & Tobago.

Jones is a defender from Trinidad & Tobago. He most recently played for W Connection in the Trinidad & Tobago Pro League and is also a member of Trinidad & Tobago’s national team.

Toronto FC will play two matches during their time in Florida, starting on Thursday at 8:00  p.m. ET when they will face MLS opposition for the first time this preseason. The match against Houston  Dynamo in the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer will be broadcast live online on TorontoFC.ca.
