Spirit And Dedication

Love for the game is what drives Jordon Henwood each time he takes to the pitch. Showcasing dedication, hard work and ability to motivate his teammates, Jordon was recently announced as a BMO Soccer Spirit Awards winner and honoured at his local BMO branch.

Nominated by his coach Tracy Boyd, 14-year-old Jordon is the first one on the field and the last to leave after the final whistle.

“Over the past three years he has come out of his shell and become a confident and exceptional player, continually demonstrating a strong dedication to improving his skills for soccer and serving as a role model for his teammates” said Boyd.

Jordon’s drive has little to do with standings or the scoreboard, and it was these leadership qualities that earned him his spot as an MVP with the Peterborough Youth Soccer Club. “Recognized for his leadership ability among his teammates and for the sportsmanship he brings to the game, Jordon is truly a deserving soccer player,” said Erica Ingram, Assistant Branch Manger at BMO in Lansdowne Mall, Peterborough.

As one of the six national winners of the BMO Soccer Spirit Awards, Jordon was awarded a $500 BMO Intuition RESP, a BMO Soccer Spirit trophy and an autographed Canadian National Men’s Team soccer jersey.
