Career Summary

Toronto FC has acquired defender Mark Bloom on loan from NASL club Atlanta Silverbacks. As per team and league policy terms of the deal were not disclosed. He will be added to the roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

“We’re happy to add Mark Bloom to our team.  Eric Wynalda has spoken very highly of him to me, and our scouts also rate him as a very solid player,” said Toronto FC President and General Manager Kevin Payne. “We expect him to be a part of the nucleus of TFC we are trying to put together to carry us forward for the next several years.”

Bloom, 25, was part of Atlanta’s NASL Spring season championship side, starting in all 12 matches, adding one assist and logging 1,080 minutes for the club. Prior to joining Atlanta, Bloom played for the Charlotte Eagles of the USL Pro League. He signed his first professional contract in 2010 with AC St. Louis of the USSF Division 2 Professional League. Before turning pro, Bloom played his collegiate soccer at Berry College. During his time at Berry College, Bloom was named team M.V.P. in his senior year and helped the team win two conference titles.
