After conflicting reports throughout the week regarding Dwayne De Rosario, head coach Aron Winter has confirmed to TorontoFC.ca that the TFC captain will not be extending his stay with Scottish Premier League club Celtic, where he has been training since late December.

Winter said last week that De Rosario was expected back for the start of preseason and nothing has changed.

Speaking Friday in Baltimore at the MLS SuperDraft, Winter revealed, "Celtic inquired about the possibility of extending Dwayne's time with them. My preference is for Dwayne to start the season with Toronto FC right from training camp. We are making a fresh start and need a strong competitive camp. Dwayne is the captain and leader and needs to be part of building a new winning culture."
