Toronto FC did not add to their roster during the first phase of Major League Soccer’s inaugural Re-Entry Draft on Wednesday afternoon. The Reds held the sixth pick in the draft but decided to pass.

Only D.C. United and Columbus picked players from the first stage. The U.S. capital team selected Joseph Ngwenya from Houston, while the Crew picked Aaron Hohlbein, formerly of Kansas City.

Toronto's Nick Garcia was not selected in Stage 1 and will be available for contract renegotiation, should he get picked up next week when the second stage of the MLS Re-Entry process will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15.

Some big names still left unclaimed alongside Garcia include New York's Juan Pablo Angel and Guillermo Barros Schelotto of Columbus.

In Stage 2, clubs may select from players that are under contract and those not under contract. If a player is not under contract, the drafting club will be required to make a genuine offer to the player within seven days. In the event that an agreement can’t be reached between the drafting club and an out-of-contract player, the drafting club will hold the right of first refusal for that player in MLS. Clubs may select their own players in Stage 2 only after all other clubs have declined to select those players.
