Toronto FC announced today that the club has signed Toronto FC II forward Jahmarie Nolan and defender Richard Chukwu to Short-Term Agreements for tonight’s MLS regular season match against FC Cincinnati. These call-ups will mark Nolan and Chuku’s first of four available Short-Term Agreements for the 2026 MLS season.
Nolan, 16, joined Toronto FC II on March 24, 2025, and became the youngest player in club history to sign an MLS NEXT Pro contract. He is currently in his second season with the Young Reds, registering two goals and one assist in 22 appearances across seasons (2025, 2026). He made his TFC II debut against Chicago Fire FC II on April 25, 2025, and scored his first goal for the club against Chattanooga FC on May 9, 2025.
Chukwu, 18, recently signed a professional contract with Toronto FC II on April 9, 2026. The Bradford, Ontario native has registered two assists in 29 appearances (20 starts) for TFC II across three MLS NEXT Pro seasons (2024, 2025, 2026). He made his Young Reds debut against Philadelphia Union II on June 30, 2024, and registered his first assist against the same opponent on August 18, 2024. Chukwu originally joined the Toronto FC Academy in January 2020 and represented the Academy across the U-15, U-17 and U-19 age groups.
Per MLS rules, a club may sign a player, age 25 or younger, during the league season from its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate to a maximum of four Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) each season (maximum of 16 days). An individual player may be included on up to four MLS league season match rosters each season; however, that player may appear in no more than two MLS league season matches. An individual player may also appear in any number of non-league games during the terms of his four Short-Term Agreements.
