Toronto FC Looking to Finish Strong

Justin Morrow vs. Chicago Fire

Even though the Reds have clinched their playoff spot and guaranteed a home playoff date, the team still has plenty to play for. A first round bye and first place in the Eastern Conference are up for grabs as the Reds head into the final stretch.

TFC will travel up to Montreal to take on the Impact at Stade Saputo two weekends from now, before returning home to BMO field the following Sunday to close out the regular season against the Chicago Fire. “It’s our rival, every time you play them its going to be a tough game,” said defender Justin Morrow. “With Chicago we have to know its going to be a tough battle as well because their guys are fighting for their jobs.”

After clinching the franchise’s first playoff appearance in dramatic fashion against the New York Red Bulls last season, the Reds struggled down the stretch losing to both Columbus and Montreal and failing to secure a home playoff game.

“I think we had a good lesson last year at the end of the year, we clinched and with two games left it didn’t end so well for us,” said Morrow.

Last year the home team won all four of MLS’ single knockout round games. Home field advantage was an expectation this season for the Reds. Justin Morrow had this to say about playing a playoff game at BMO Field, “It’s going to be great. Our fans are going to show up I know that. I am really looking forward to just being in Toronto. “

The Reds will need to remain focused as they head into the final two games of the season. They will want to build some positive momentum to carry into the first ever playoff game at BMO field.
