Toronto FC appoint Adam Brett as Director of Player Health and High Performance

Toronto FC announced today that the club has appointed Adam Brett as Director of Player Health and High Performance, effective immediately. Reporting to General Manager Jason Hernandez, Brett will oversee the club’s Performance and Medical Department, leading an integrated approach to player health, performance, and athlete

Adam will deliver a new level of expertise and innovative leadership, drawing from his extensive experience at respectable clubs, most notably his long tenure with Brighton. We are excited to work with Adam and support his vision in revamping our Medical and Performance departments.”

Brett joins Toronto FC with more than 20 years of experience in elite sport, including over a decade in English professional football. Most recently, he served as Director of Performance Services at Tottenham Hotspur FC, where he was part of the club's UEFA Europa League-winning campaign. Prior to Tottenham, Brett spent ten seasons with Brighton & Hove Albion, progressing from Head Physiotherapist to Head of Medicine & Performance while helping guide the club through its rise and establishment in the Premier League and participation in European competition. Prior to his time in football, Brett held physiotherapy and performance roles with Gloucester Rugby, the Rugby Football Union and Henley Hawks Rugby Club.

A highly respected leader in sports medicine and performance, Brett has published academic research as part of his Professional Doctorate in Elite Performance and holds a Master of Science in Sports Physiotherapy, bachelor's degrees in Physiotherapy and Sports Science, FIFA's Diploma in Football Medicine and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has also served as a Medical Education Tutor for The Football Association for the past nine years.
