Toronto FC Acquire Brandon Servania from FC Dallas in Exchange for Jesús Jiménez

Toronto FC announced today that the club has acquired midfielder Brandon Servania from FC Dallas in exchange for Jesús Jiménez and an international slot through the remainder of the 2023 season. Toronto FC will retain a portion of Jiménez’s salary budget charge. Servania will be added to the roster pending the receipt of the International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

“Brandon is a smart young footballer who will add to the quality of our group,” said Toronto FC Head Coach and Sporting Director Bob Bradley. “Brandon has an eye for combining in the midfield and playing forward quickly while providing hard running from box to box. I’d also like to thank Jesús for his contributions and wish him well with his new club.”

Servania, 23, joins Toronto FC after spending the past four seasons with FC Dallas, where he recorded five goals and seven assists in 74 appearances across all competitions. He originally signed as a Homegrown Player on January 3, 2018 and made his MLS debut against Philadelphia Union on April 6, 2019. During his time with FC Dallas, Servania also went on short loan spells to USL Championship side Tulsa Roughnecks FC (2018) and SKN St. Pölten (2021) of the Austrian Bundesliga, where he made a combined 27 appearances.

He originally joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2015 and was a member of the U-16 team that brought home the 2016 U.S. Soccer Development Academy National Championship and the U-18 team that captured the club’s first Gordon Jago Dallas Cup Super Group title in 2017.

Internationally, Servania earned his first called-up to the U.S. Men's National Team (USMNT) in 2020 and made his senior team debut in an international friendly against Costa Rica on February 1, 2020. He also represented the U.S. at the youth level and participated in the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup where he helped the U.S. reach the quarterfinals.

Jiménez, 29, recently completed his first season with Toronto FC, where he scored 10 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions. He originally signed with Toronto FC on February 7, 2022. Jiménez was part of the squad that won the postponed 2020 Canadian Championship (played on June 4, 2022) after defeating Forge FC 5-4 on penalties.
