The Reds are looking to get back on track in league play, and it all starts with solid performances in front of their home fans.

Toronto FC were incredibly consistent at BMO Field in 2017, posting a 13-1-3 regular season record en route to the treble. Getting back to winning ways at home will go a long way to turning things around in 2018, and Friday’s fixture vs. the Lions is the latest chance to set things right.

Canadian Contingent

With injuries ravaging the squad early in the season, head coach Greg Vanney has turned to his bench early and often to plug up the holes in the XI. But it’s not all bad news, as the void has created a good few chances for TFC’s Canadian contingent in the past few weeks.

With Jozy Altidore still working his way back from injury and Sebastian Giovinco serving a one-game suspension, Canadians Tosaint Ricketts and Jordan Hamilton could well receive starting nods on Friday night. Jonathan Osorio continues to shine in the midfield, and Jay Chapman has also been making the most of his chances within the squad.

Kljestan Question

Orlando City did a bit of retooling in the offseason, bringing in some key pieces to bolster the squad. Now pulling the strings for the Lions is former New York Red Bulls and Anderlecht midfielder Sacha Kljestan.

The two-time reigning assist champion in MLS has four assists to date and has combined with Justin Meram and Dom Dwyer to create a lethal front line. TFC will need to limit Kljestan’s time and space on the ball in the final third in order to come away with a result on Friday night.
