Toronto FC midfielder Matt Stinson has been left out of the Canada squad after picking up an injury.

The 19-year old former Toronto FC Academy player, now a regular in head coach Aron Winter's squad, received his first national team call last week. The teenager's unavailability robs him of a chance at being capped for his country at the senior level, a feat he achieved for the Canadian U-20 side.

TorontoFC.ca can confirm Monday morning that a minor knock to the knee picked up in training has made Stinson unavailable for the upcoming World Cup games.

Stinson's Toronto teammates, Ashtone Morgan and Julian de Guzman, will travel with Canada to Basseterre, St. Kitts for a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier this Friday.

The Canadians return to take on St. Kitts and Nevis at BMO Field on Tuesday, November 15.
