Sebastian Giovinco Voted Into MLS All-Star Game

Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco was voted into the MLS Fan XI for the 2016 AT&T MLS All-Star Game. The MLS All-Stars will meet English Premier League club Arsenal FC on Thursday, July 28 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live in North America on ESPN, UniMás, UDN, TSN2 and RDS.


Giovinco is currently in his second season with Toronto FC. The reigning MVP and Golden Boot winner has made 19 appearances for Toronto FC in 2016, registering a total of nine goals and six assists in MLS and the Amway Canadian Championship. He was also named to the MLS Team of the Week twice this season (Weeks 8 and 11).


This marks the second consecutive year that Giovinco has been named to the AT&T MLS All-Star Game. He did not play in the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game due to an injury. Toronto FC’s All-time All-Star player list includes: Ronnie O’Brien (2007), Jimmy Brennan (2008), Dwayne De Rosario (2009, 2010), Jermain Defoe (2014 – did not play due to injury), Michael Bradley (2014, 2015 – did not play due to injury) and Jozy Altidore (2015).
