TORONTO – Toronto FC reserves conceded a late goal to New England Revolution in a 3-2 defeat on a bright Tuesday morning at BMO Field.

The match seemed to be heading for a 2-2 draw when Ryan Guy connected with a low set piece delivery from a corner for his 86th minute winner.

Guy’s winner for New England was preceded by goals from Dominik Machado at the 39th and Otto Loewy’s 56th minute volley from the edge of the Toronto area.

Stephen McCarthy was the lone substitution in the match. The New England midfielder picked up a wrist injury and a yellow card in the same play before vacating the pitch to make way for Machado.

The reserves match was followed by the 2011 Toronto FC Open Practice for the first team presented by Danone. Thousands of school children filed into BMO Field in the second half to watch the thrilling final 45 minutes.

This was Toronto’s third MLS Reserve League match. The Reds lost to Columbus 1-0 and drew Philadelphia 0-0 prior to this contest in the Reserve League’s six-team East Division. Toronto Reserves are expected to be back in action on July 6 in New Jersey against the New York Red Bulls.

The first team will take on Salt Lake at Utah’s Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, June 25 at 9 p.m. ET on GOL TV Canada.
