Toronto selected Demitrius Omphroy with its 26th overall pick in the second round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft.
Omphroy is a versatile fullback from the University of California. He started all 20 matches he played for the Golden Bears in 2010.

Toronto then made a surprising move to grab the highly touted Joao Plata, who was still available late in the third round. The Reds traded a player to be named later for Chicago's 49th overall pick, which they used to select Plata.
