Toronto FC coach Preki praised his team's workrate and fighting spirit after watching them draw 0-0 with league leaders Los Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot Center on Saturday night. Preki said he was proud of the way his players performed.

"Today we have shown that we are a bunch of men on the field," he told the GOLTV Canada post-game show. "We were strong, we were a unit and we defended as a group. I was really proud of our team because they are showing tremendous commitment to the group and each other. We now have a group of guys who understand what it takes to play as a team and to get results."

"I am disappointed that we didn't win because I think we had the best chances and I thought we were the better team. We defended like men, we played like men. Every single guy that stepped on the field gave everything out there."

Preki brought captain Dwayne De Rosario off midway through the second half as he ensures the captain is fit and ready to play in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship match in Vancouver on Wednesday. "We will go into Vancouver now and fight to win the Canada Cup. We have got to save their legs. We have lots of games coming and we are also showing a lot of trust in some of the young guys."

Martin Saric started the match in place of Julian de Guzman after the Canadian left the pre-match warm up with a hamstring injury. Preki was pleased with the performance of Saric. "He was more disciplined and didn't run all over the field. I hope now he is starting to understand the way we want him to play.
