Match Recap - Toronto FC II at FC Tucson

TFC II vs. Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. – FC Tucson and Toronto FC II split the points in a match that both teams probably felt they could have won. The match was open from the onset, with both sides pushing hard for an opening goal. The goalkeepers were called into action early and often and both were up to the task for most of the match.

After over an hour of probing, the goals finally came, minutes apart. Tucson struck first when Eti Tavares poked the ball free from a Toronto defender. The loose ball fell to Roy Abergil who drove at the TFC II backs before slotting Jamael Cox through. Cox made no mistake, tucking the ball under the goalkeeper to give the home side the lead. Toronto would equalize six minutes later through Jordan Hamilton. Griffin Dorsey, who hit the post earlier in the half, made his way to the end line and chipped a cross to the back post in the direction of Hamilton. The Toronto FC loanee rose above everybody and nodded the ball home to help his side earn a point on the road.
