Toronto FC (3W-10L-6T, 14 points) and the New York Red Bulls (8W-7L-4T, 28 points) played out a 1-1 draw at BMO Field on Wednesday evening.

Toronto FC Head Coach Robin Fraser made six changes to the lineup that started against Charlotte FC on May 31 with Sigurd Rosted, Kevin Long, Alonso Coello, Matty Longstaff, Derrick Etienne Jr. and Theo Corbeanu coming in for Kosi Thompson, Lazar Stefanovic, Deybi Flores, Jonathan Osorio, Lorenzo Insigne and Tyrese Spicer.

TFC goalkeeper Sean Johnson was called into action early and made an instinctive save to deny Red Bulls captain Emil Forsberg in the 11th minute.

New York Red Bulls broke the deadlock nine minutes later, as Mohammed Sofo tapped in from close-range after Johnson had initially denied Lewis Morgan.

Both sides were forced into early substitutions due to first-half injuries with Wiktor Bogacz coming on for Lewis Morgan in the 24thminute before Zane Monlouis was replaced by Kosi Thompson in the 41st minute.

Toronto FC found their equalizer six minutes after the restart, as Theo Corbeanu nodded home a well-placed header following a cross from Alonso Coello and Sigurd Rosted’s redirected header.

The 51st minute goal marked Corbeanu’s fifth MLS goal contribution of the season (four goals, one assist) and Rosted’s first assist for Toronto FC.

With 15 minutes of regular time remaining, Canadian forward Deandre Kerr made a long-awaited return from injury in the 76thminute, coming on for Maxime Dominguez to mark his first club appearance since March 29 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

With both sides unable to find a late winner, the two Eastern Conference sides settled for a point apiece from the Wednesday evening affair.

Toronto FC return to host Portland Timbers in three night’s time on Saturday, June 28. Kick-off from BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario isset for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
