Match Recap: TFC 2, CHI 1

Toronto FC dropped out of the Eastern Conference lead after their one-week layoff -- then picked right back up where they were before the international break, with three big away points that leapfrogged them into first place once again.

JozyAltidore had a goal and an assist, and TFC withstood the Chicago Fire's comeback bid after the hour mark to take a 2-1 away decison on Saturday night.

Altidore opened the scoring for the Reds in the 32nd minute, and then helped TFC capitalize on a distribution gaffe by Fire 'keeper Sean Johnson to go up 2-0 in the 52nd.

Johnson threw the ball directly to Altidore, who deflected it to Jonathan Osorio for an easy looping finish into the open goal.

The Fire brought on DavidAccam and switched to a 4-3-3 after that -- and the move paid near-immediate dividends, with Accam's run through the TFC defense setting up MichaeldeLeeuw's point-blank header that cut the margin to 2-1 in the 58th minute. That was as close as Chicago could get, though, despite taking the fight to the visitors in the closing minutes.
