Kids & Drills In TFC//TWELVE Finale

TFC//TWELVE finished at Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario.

The final day of TFC//TWELVE took Toronto FC front office staff to the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario for a day of soccer at the beautiful grounds located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River.

The day was divided into two sessions, the first was a soccer clinic with the local Boys and Girls Club of Kingston. Two busloads of kids arrived at noon for a full lunch in the RMC mess hall graciously provided by the hosts.

After a light meal, everyone headed to the field where the kids were met by the RMC women’s varsity team who took them through the afternoon’s clinic. Over sixty kids enjoyed different relay races and a number of games of frozen tag before putting their skills to the test in scrimmages on three mini fields.

Following the afternoon session kids were awarded prizes and given certificates acknowledging their participation in the TFC//TWELVE clinic.

The second half of the day saw the first ever Toronto FC Skills Competition be put on for sixty kids, many from the Cataraqui Clippers rep team. Once again, with the amazing help of the RMC women’s varsity soccer team this event had six stations including accuracy shooting, hardest shot, goalkeeping, speed dribbling, technique dribbling and passing.

Participants had two hours to compete in up to three areas to try and win Toronto FC prize packs.  The kids had a great time trying to beat each other’s scores in front of many cheering parents.

Toronto FC Congratulates all participants and prize winners. This event was a great way to complete TFC//TWELVE. Though it was a long way to travel for a day, it was rewarding to work with a group of very talented women and meet so many kids who were excited at the opportunity to play soccer.

Toronto FC thanks the Royal Military College of Canada for being a tremendous host and the Reds will look for a chance to return again in the future.
