Toronto FC announced the club has allowed striker Jermain Defoe to train with his former club Tottenham Hotspur.

The training period begins on Thursday and will run for one week.

The 32-year-old recorded 11 goals in 16 league games for the Reds in 2014, but dealt with injuries for much of the season.
