Griffons Take Twelfth Week

TOTW Les Griffons

MONT ROYAL/OUTREMONT, QC, JULY 4, 2012 – BMO Financial Group announced today that Les Griffons MU-10A du CSMRO, a group of U-11 boys from Mont Royal/Outremont, Quebec, have been selected as the twelfth BMO Team of the Week for 2012. As part of BMO’s Canada-wide grassroots soccer program, the win comes with a $500 team prize, a $500 donation to the team’s charity of choice, plus BMO Team of the Week tracksuits and a community celebration at the local BMO branch.

“Griffons’ coaches and families work hard to ensure that these young boys will grow up to be good young men,” said Joel Clancy, Head Coach of Les Griffons MU-10A du CSMRO. “I am not only proud of their accomplishments on the field, but also of the work they do to give back. Right now, the team is raising funds to host a youth boys soccer team from Haiti – a big undertaking. I have no doubt that our boys will see this through to completion, and learn something along the way.”

“Les Griffons MU-10A du CSMRO are boys who play soccer for the love of the game, their team and their community,” said Alan Desnoyers, District Vice-President, Montreal, BMO Bank of Montreal. “It's inspiring to see a team with so much spirit, and who are such conscientious members of their community, on a local, as well as international level. I’m honoured to present the Griffons with this week's BMO Team of the Week title.”

Fifteen youth soccer teams (age 7-12) will be awarded BMO Team of the Week based on team pride, team spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. The fifteen finalists will then vie for the grand prize which will be decided by the Canadian public. Online voting begins August 13th.
