U-17: Toronto FC 1, New York City FC 2
Toronto FC U-17 Academy was defeated by New York City U-17 Academy 2-1 in the third game of the Generation adidas Cup today at BMO Training Ground.
The Reds took the lead through Mauro Lulli in the 39th minute. Lulli registered his tournament-leading fourth goal of the competition. TFC was only able to hold onto their lead for 11 minutes as NYCFC scored in the 50th and 72nd minutes. The game-winning goal for NYCFC was scored by Eligio Guarino on a perfectly-placed a free kick from just outside the top of the box.
Toronto FC finishes the group stage with a 2-1 record.

“It was the third game in four days against a good opponent. We played really well the first half but made two major mistakes in the second half that cost us the game. It’s a learning experience for our boys. When we play these high-level MLS competitions we will be punished by our mistakes, that is our lesson. We will move forward.”
U-15: Toronto FC 0, New York City FC 0 (New York City FC wins 4-2 on penalties)
Toronto FC U-15 Academy was defeated on penalties after a 0-0 draw with New York City FC U-15 Academy in the third game of the Generation adidas Cup at the BMO Training Ground.
New York City goalkeeper Max Pfaffman made two saves in penalties following the defensive stalemate.
Toronto FC finishes the group stage undefeated with a 1-0-2 record.
