Kevin Politz Signs

Toronto FC II announced that the club has signed defender Kevin Politz to a USL contract. Politz will join the club’s roster pending league and federation approval.


“We are delighted to add Kevin to our team as he brings a skill set and profile that will help us achieve our goals,” said Toronto FC II head coach Mike Munoz. “He has an array of professional experience that will positively impact our team and we are excited to have him on board.”


Politz, 25, most recently played for Hartford Athletic, registering one goal and one assist in 15 appearances during the 2020 USL Championship season. In 2019, the centre back played for Greenville Triumph SC of USL League One, making 29 appearances, earning two USL League One Team of the Week selections during the regular season.


Before joining Greenville, Politz signed a homegrown contract with the New York Red Bulls in 2018, appearing in 21 games with Red Bulls II in the USL. He played college soccer at Wake Forest University from 2014 to 2017, making 72 appearances in four seasons for the Demon Deacons, scoring three goals with one assist. He was named the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Defensive Player of the Year as well as being named to the All-ACC Second Team in 2017 and the All-ACC Third Team in 2016.


Internationally, Politz made one appearance with the United States Under-17 National Team in 2012.
