Key Player: Vincent Bezecourt
The French midfielder is in his second season with NYRB II. Bezecourt currently leads the USL in both assists with eight and chances created with 43. The former St. Francis College player has also chipped in with five goals this season. Bezecourt was recently loaned up to the first team for their U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals match against New England but was an unused substitute.
Unsung Hero: Arun Basulkevic
The homegrown player is enjoying a nice debut season in the USL. The midfielder graduated from the Red Bulls Academy in the offseason and has played in every game for NYRB II this season. The native of the Bronx has made a team high 1,348 passes at an 84.2% success rate. He has added 24 key passes and recorded one assist.
Just like TFC II, NYRB II’s style of play mirrors the first team’s style. NYRB II roll out in a 4-2-3-1 and play a pressing style just like the first team.
